Google Workspace for Education, alongside your IT provider
Most schools already have an IT contract, and the provider looks after the day-to-day. Google Workspace for Education is where the detail gets specialist. I was CTO of an education and training company for 20 years and ran all of its technology, Google Workspace included.

Is your email going to spam?
Check your domain's SPF, DKIM and DMARC records in a few seconds. It looks up public DNS records through Google's DNS service, and I don't store anything you type.
Frequently asked questions
Do you offer free Google Workspace support?
No. Google’s help centre and support are free to Workspace customers, and I’d point you to those for small questions. My ongoing work is paid, though your first call is free and I’ll tell you the cost before any work starts.
How much does Google Workspace cost?
Google bills licences per user per month, and the price depends on the edition. Current prices are on Google’s own pricing page. My fees are separate and depend on the size of the project.
We already use Google Workspace. What can you help with?
Most of my Google Workspace work is with businesses that already use it. That means a health check and clean-up, security and sharing settings, users and devices, training so people use it properly, integrations with your other tools, and automation.
Can you build custom integrations or automations?
Yes. I build with Google Apps Script, the Google Workspace APIs and AppSheet. I also build custom agentic AI workflows, and I have specialised in that for the last two years. If something can be automated between Workspace and your other tools, I will tell you whether it is worth doing before you commit.
Can you help with our local network and systems too?
Yes. I look after the IT your business relies on, whether or not you have an IT team: internet and WiFi, firewalls, remote access, devices and on-site systems. Network work is done on site in Cheshire and Greater Manchester.
Can you work alongside our current IT provider?
Yes. If you already have an IT supplier, I can take on the Google Workspace side, an integration or a particular project, and work with them rather than replace them.
Do you still do migrations?
Yes, from Microsoft 365 or another email system, though it is not my main focus. How long it takes depends on the number of users, the amount of data and how much training people need. After a free call I give you a timeline.
Do you work with schools and colleges?
Yes, alongside your existing IT provider or directly with the school. I support Google Workspace for Education, including the admin console, Classroom and sharing settings.
Where do you work?
I’m based in Cheshire. On-site work covers Cheshire and Greater Manchester, and Google Workspace work can be done remotely for businesses anywhere in the UK.

About
Who you'll be working with
I'm Neil Armstrong. I've spent more than 30 years in technology, about 20 of them as CTO of a multi-site education and training group, responsible for everything from the data systems and networks to the software each department needed to run.
Google Workspace sat at the centre of that. I introduced Google Apps, now Workspace, across the group, moved email off on-premise servers onto it, and used it as the identity and storage layer for the systems around it. One of those was a learner-evidence platform I designed: Google sign-in tied each upload to a verified account, files went straight to Drive through the Drive API, and an audit trail was written to Sheets. It replaced USB sticks and local folders, and achieved 100% compliance in external awarding-body audits.
Since then, through Armstrong Technology, I've taken on shorter migration and systems projects for businesses, and for the last two years I've specialised in building AI workflows and agents. I'm a one-person business and a current Google Cloud Partner, so you deal with one experienced person from the first call to the last handover.
